There is wear on the cover, see photos- the covering on the top of the spine has been torn off. Also wear to spine edges and corners. Interior: heavy foxing (browning) on some pages, especially those with tissue paper overlays. Page7/8 has come loose— see photo. Otherwise tight binding. The second volume is July- December 1856. The front cover has come off. Tear at top of spine, corner and edge wear. There is some heavy foxing in this volume also. No loose pages, but the colored page with the picture of the dog— see photo— has rough edges. It may have been a folded page—if so, part of that page may be missing. These books will be shipped in a box to protect them during shipping.
