Description: Original Antique map extracted from a 1836 publication called REPORT ON METROPOLIS IMPROVEMENT 1836. The plans were ordered to be drawn up by the House of Commons because many streets in the city of London, and other quarters of the metropolis, which were almost impassable from their confined breadth, and the crowd of carriages which blocked them up, making it absolutely necessary to widen them in several places. Map is in good condition for age with some general wear and tear associated with age and handling. Stored and shipped folded down a number of existing folds. Some frays and tears with age to edges, particularly on folds, along with some general light handling wear. A couple of fold joins have small holes through sheet. See photos for examples. Folds are delicate but all intact apart from tears to a few edges. Large tear to top left corner, and a smaller knick to top right. Approx total paper size is 58 x 42.5cm See photo
