Description: This product is an original vintage ambrotype photograph of a woman, produced in the 1850s or 1860s. It is housed in a 1/6th plate brown octagonal Union Case (K-359) which is made of thermoplastic material and features an antique scroll design. The production technique used for the photograph is ambrotype, a type of wet plate collodion process on glass. The product was manufactured in the United States and is a single photograph. Condition: good plus with no cracks but light chips or flea bites & wear to corners & edges. Velvet pad is loose but in tact. There is no paper in the case behind the image. Hinges are slightly loose & tarnished. Clasp is there but does not stay shut. The image has no preserver, but there is glass and a worn mat. The mat is stamped “Winder Cin. O.” I strive for five stars. I usually skip the nearest post office (Kidder) and drop your package off at the Cameron, Missouri post office, shortening the shipping time by one day as a courtesy to you the buyer.
