Description: 12 World War II Era "ILLUSTRATED CURRENT NEWS"New Haven Connecticut, 10 Military Themed World War II Posters Plus 1 Manufacturing & 1 Mt. Vesuvius, 1943-1944Approx: 19" x 12.5"Just Reduced! Nice 12 (1943-1944) poster bundle for the WWII militaria & era collector. These came from a large collector's estate. We do not know much about the publisher other than they printed news items from 1914 up to at least the 2013 before changing names and they were originally based in New Haven Connecticut, USA. They printed news items each week for stores and newsstands to promote trade (hence the poster size) and distributed nationally and into Canada from what we could find. 10 of these are directly related to military operations and events, there is 1 about Mt. Vesuvius and 1 about a manufacturing plant (which was likely also war production related). The posters are in very good condition for their age with some moderate wear as shown in pictures but still frame worthy. A few have small tears at edges and some minor discoloring in spots but nothing really effecting the poster's appeals. They have a few slight waves to them from being rolled and stored as shown in pictures, but they can be flattened of course and if framed flat that would fade. We have seen these selling from a few dollars each up to over $100 depending on topic, age condition, etc. (The older authentic baseball and other sports prints by the publisher of course seem to draw the highest prices, but the old military posters are still very collectible.) We tried to price these a reasonable price based on other sales. These are all from 1943 to 1944 based on numbers when compared to others that have sold online, but we did not cross reference all the events and dates, etc. However, we looked up the Focke-Wulk (Wulf) bombing raid and the Mt. Vesuvius eruption (March 1944) as noted and dated below. The production numbers and headlines are as follows. 1.) #4674 "THAT MEANS HOME TO ME"2.) #4704 "FORTS DESTROY FOCKE-WULK PLANT", Bombing October 22, 1943.3.) #4709 "BOMB HIT DURING LANDING OPERATIONS IN SALERNO"4.) #4736 "THESE WILL COMMAND INVASION AIR FORCES"5.) #4744 "STOCK TO FLOW AT BUTADIENE PLANT"6.) #4746 "PLANE NOSE-DIVES INTO ATLANTIC"7.) #4750 "OUR FORCES ESTABLISH NEW ITALIAN BEECHHEAD"8.) #4767 "LONG-SUFFERING PRISONERS HOME AT LAST"9.) #4770 "MT VESUVIUS IN WORST ERUPTION IN 70 YEARS" (March, 1944)10.) #4800 "THEY KNOW THE MEANING OF WAR"11.) #4812 "GERMAN TANK TRAP OUTSIDE CHERBOURG"12.) #4844 "YANKS TRAMP THROUGH PARIS" Please look over all pictures taken for your consideration and use zoom feature if needed. We will likely ship these rolled together in a 3-5" diameter thick cardboard tube to protect them. Please Note: We photograph artwork, prints and photographs in different light settings to try and capture a painting, sculpture or other artwork's look in different settings. Therefore there may be some variations in color from one picture to another. The photos are not altered, but may have been photographed in a brighter room, with natural light, a flash feature or other. Also, we try to note any visible defects we can see but there may be wear or imperfections we miss. Please view all pictures taken for your consideration and use zoom feature if needed. Likewise, you can always notify us with questions. Please Read: See our Feedback & Buy with confidence. We ship with extreme care and all items are fully insured! We often take from 30-90 minutes packing more delicate & odd sized items to make sure your treasure is protected. We also photograph most items above $100 while packing in case a shipper were to ever damage an item (only 1 time in over 2,000 US shipped sales). For this reason, if an item is ever damaged, it will be the Buyer's responsibility to file a claim with the shipping service and we can provide photos from packing to assist Buyers. The process is not difficult, but the timing of such does not allow adequate time for the item to be returned to us and then for us to proceed with a claim (chain of custody questions can arise as well on returned items due to double shipping and handling so it is just easier for Buyers). So again, as noted in listing, we do not offer returns. Sales tax is charged according to your state or country's regulations. Of course, there is free local pick up and we can meet to assist if you are near Indianapolis or driving through. We do this often. Let us know if you want signature confirmation your item if it is above $100, we will not require it otherwise unless shipping service requires. FedEx & Others are beginning to require signature on items above $500-$700. Also, we have discounts with FedEx & eBay on shipping which do not always show up in eBay estimates on shipping. We try to refund what we can when there is a notable difference, but we do not know until we actually process the shipping order.
