Description: Seed Description: The Bismarck Tree, or Bismarckia Nobilis, is a large tropical palm originating from Madagascar that can serve as the king piece of a garden or as a majestic addition to the yard. The Palm’s symmetry, sturdiness, and large fans of blue-white leaves grant a stunning appearance for any landscape. It grows a single trunk, and in its natural habitat can reach heights of up to 25 meters, though through cultivation 12 meters is more common. Its palmate leaves have a waxy feel and will typically span 4 meters across, supported by stems that span roughly 2 meters. The bases where the stems are attached to the trunk have sharp ridges where they split. We recommend purchasing these seeds in bulk as the sprouting process can be hit or miss. Growing Instructions: 1. In order to permeate the thick shell, you must first soak the seeds in water for at least 2 days to soften them up.2. Prepare small 4″ inch pots with an equal combination of coarse sand and standard potting soil. 3. Moisten the soil before lightly pressing one seed 1” into each pot.4. Keep the pots in a shaded, warm spot. The seeds germinate within 6 to 8 weeks, but can occasionally take longer.5. The seedlings are ready to plant once they grow a second set of leaves. Plant the seedlings in pots and later outdoors in an area full of sunlight. Ensure the tree has room to grow as the crown can reach anywhere from 12’ to 20’ wide.
