Please note wood slices when fresh cut, especially pine, have a scent. When they arrive, please unpack them immediately and spread them around to dry more so that air circulates around them. DO NOT STACK THEM UNTIL DRY. This will reduce the scent. Not sanded, just as they came from the saw. The bark is tight though small pieces may break off in shipping. As these slices dry they will get lighter in color and may develop some cracks, this is normal. NOTE: If you are ordering during the winter & spring season, our logs will be dry and the bark will mostly fall off. USUALLY AFTER ABOUT 3 WEEKS THEY HAVE SPLIT AND CRACKED AS MUCH AS THEY ARE GOING TO. MANY PEOPLE FEEL AS THOUGH THIS ADDS CHARACTER!
